You might need to go to the Nether or the End in order to find them because the site stated that they could be found in all Minecraft worlds.
The trimmings may be forged on a smithing bench, after which they can be colored using materials like diamonds, copper, and netherite.
Some resources may not be optimally utilized in this manner, but copper is given a new application, which is always a positive thing.
The improvements to the armor trim will be accessible to Java Edition players in this week's snapshot, which should be released tomorrow, January 25.
Unfortunately, neither this feature nor the other 1.20 enhancements that have been revealed are yet available to Bedrock users. However, for the time being, this will continue to be a Java-only feature. They are trying to add these to betas and previews in the future.
Is a release date for Minecraft 1.20 set?
Mojang hosted a Minecraft Live in October 2022 during which they shared a lot of information about the next update to the game, including which mob had won the Mob Vote. Additionally, they disclosed that the 1.20 upgrade will appear in 2023.
There is currently no official release date, but it is going to happen quite soon. That might indicate that it won't be released until December, but it could also indicate that it will happen in February.
The middle option seems most plausible, but keep an eye on the official Mojang channels because they will eventually give a firm release date.
